How's it going? -- Jen

How's it going Carrie??  Are you back in the groove with exercising, etc.?  I know its hard not being in your own house with a routine.  You can do it though!!!  Get your butt to the gym while you have Anthony home.  It will get you back in the groove and then when he's off to school you will already be into it.  I sure wish we could all work out together.  It is so much easier when I had you guys with me and so much more fun too!!  Love you girls... keep it up!!!

I am back

Hey ladies! Okay so it has been so hard for me to get back into the whole excercise thing. It is always that way with me. I take ANY time off and it is a killer getting started again. But, I have and now I just need to push thru it. So, when I got on the scale Saturday I was trying to gear myself up mentally because I hadn't worked out in 2 weeks. You know.....having a lumpectamy, moving to another state, and being on my period and all, I thought okay....you are probably going to have gained a couple of pounds, Carrie so you need to be okay with that and move on.......BUT  6 POUNDS!!!!! Come ON! That just totally bites. All of that hard work for the past couple of months just gone....or should I say, BACK!!!! Man, it really sucks having the Campbell genes sometimes. I guess that is just more proof that we really do have to commit ourselves to a LIFETIME of eating right AND excersise. No "breaks" here. Oh well, it is time to just forget about it and move on, right. Your two are my motivation for sure. How depressing though that it took about 2 MONTHS to take it off and 2 WEEKS to put it back on. It wouldn't be so bad if it was even-steven. But NO, 6 pounds right on my pretty little hynee just like that. Here we go again......

Excited... Scared... Not sure what to expect... -- Jodi

This is so Crazy! Yesterday after i was finishing the PUMP class at the gym, the instructor of the class approached me and asked me if i was keeping up my running. I told her of course that i was. The then asked me if i had heard of the Race 'Wasatch Back'. I told her that i had. She then asked me if i might be interested in being part of a team for this years race!!!! Surprised  WOW! I was so excited! Then i got nervous! but then excited again, as it might be a new FUN challenge! This was a big deal for me. Out of all the people that i see in the gym every single day, for some reason... she picked me to ask to be a part of her team. The more that i have looked into it since, I am finding out that this is a pretty big deal. So I am Very complimented. How kewl that she would ask me!!

She said that she needed to check with one other girl, before she knew for sure if they needed me to be a part of the team. She said that she would let me know by Tuesday or so. I am starting to really hope that she needs me to be a part!! That would be so kewl!

Here is a clip that tells more about the race:

OH! My! GOSH! You 2 are too much!!! Ü -- Jodi

OK! Enough with the shorts and legs!!! Tongue out You two are killin me!
I seriously can't believe i actually ran with those on!!!! AND... the shirt didn't even go around my waist until like mile.... 3 or 4!! Open-mouthed I didn't put them on when i was up getting ready for the race... but then i tried them on and they are pretty comfy! So, the shorts it was! HAHA!

Also, here are some pictures that were taken by the race people:

Way To Go Jod

Just so you know, it was one of the best days of my life too. I was and am so proud of you. I only wish I could have run it with you. Now you know how cool it feels to cross that finish line, too. It is addictive! I love you, Jod and couldn't be prouder! (and yes, you do look hot in my shorts!)

too cute! -- Jen

Oh my gosh!!  Way too cute!  I was waiting to see those pictures.  And by the way... you look hot in those shorts.  Nice legs!!!  (they look like runner legs!)  Way to go Jo Jo!

My Pictures @ SLC Marathon 2008!! -- Jodi

My sister Carrie helped the kids make posters for them to 'fly' when they saw me coming to the finish line. SO CUTE!!! All my nieces & nephews call me JoJo!

My niece Maya

My daughter Sadie

Here I come.....to the FINISH!

The kids were SO EXCITED for me! It was soooo cute! I couldn't wait to give them hugs and kisses at the finish!

My cousin Julie also ran the race.

I could tell that Maya (my niece) was extra proud and excited. She wouldn't let go of my hand the ENTIRE rest of the afternoon! She was right by my side! It just MELTED my heart!

Yea for Jodi!!! -- jen

I am so proud of you Jodi!!!  What a HUGE accomplishment!  I was dying to be there and was thinking about you all morning.  I was so glad to see that the weather was nice for you (I know how you hate the heat!).  I couldn't be more excited for you.  I know how hard you worked and it all payed off.  Congrats!

ONE of the BEST days of my LIFE!... -- Jodi

OH!!! Jen! I wish you would have been there! It was SO Great to have Carrie there! She is the BEST cheerleader! Ü Thanks Care!
I tell ya! I am SO EXCITED! I have been trying So hard to just HOLD on to this feeling i have had since Saturday! I am afraid that i am going to forget what it felt like! It was AMAZING! It was really one of the best days ever!!! I just don't know that the day could have been any more perfect! The weather was perfect! Not too cold and not too warm. Just a perfect breeze/wind blowing (sometimes at my back... which was a wonderful thing!) My body felt amazing! the whole way! I would have liked to have slept more soundly the night before... I was just SO worried that I wasn't going to wake up to my alarm! but the hotel was clean and very nice. The ENERGY in the aire was UnREAL!! There were SO MANY PEOPLE! and not just runners... but cheerleaders! All along the entire route of the race. The entire 13.1 miles of it! The energy was amazing from the start to the finish! I would have to say that it was addicting! It was SO MUCH FUN!

The entire time, i just tried to remind myself of my goals. I was SO Nervous!!! before the race! I was so worried that i would "hit a wall" like i did on my very first half marathon in Moab. UG! My memories of running marathons weren't so great... Ü I was so scared... that if i had 'hit a wall', Carrie wasn't with me... and i didn't bring my cell phone! What would i have done? That would have been awful! (now that i think of it -- that could have been very bad!! haha!! I could have been crawling back at mile 9 & Carrie would be stuck with all five kids at the finish line FOREVER!!) (it was bad enough trying to find eachother after i crossed the finish line with me not having any line of communication-I had thought about carrying my cell with me, but it being the dinasour that it is... just didn't want to carry anything bulky)
Anyway, I just kept asking myself... am i going to fast? I reminded myself that my goal was to just finish, and feel better then i did in Moab and feel good about what i had accomplished. It was so AMAZING! There was one point about mile 11, that i thought... ut-oh! but by mile 11.5... i caught a second wind and was FINE! by that time... i was just so excited! After 11.5 comes 12!!! and that meant that i only had a little over ONE MILE LEFT! OH! i was so excited!!!
I didn't have to stop! not ONCE! I got water and gatorade twice, but i was so scared that if i stopped... my legs wouldn't go again! HAHA! I just kept on truckin! It really was a SUPER day! I am so thrilled at how it all went! My finishing time was 2:16 which gave me a per mile time of 10.27!!! That is almost an HOUR better then what my time was in Canyonlands!!! and it was NIGHT AND DAY on how i felt when i was finished! not even close in comparison!! GOALS ACCOMPLISHED!
I felt amazing! There is still room for improvement on my time... so I HAVE to do it again!!! Ü

The only thing that I would change for next year... is to have BOTH my sisters there RUNNING WITH me!
When i woke up that morning, i wished that Carrie had been there with me. I do have to say though, that i am SO thankful for the chance that i got to run this race on my own. (not that i didn't want Carrie there... cause i did) But It just forced me to see if i could do it. Now i know that i can do it! New registrations for 2009 opened at midnight on Sunday (yesterday) and I am already signed up! Tongue out  Carrie said that she wants to do it with me... Jen how bout it?
Also, i do have to say that Carrie... thanks for making the day so fun. Thanks for being so excited for me and for having ALL THE KIDS in that Croud of people at the finishline!!! You are amazing! you have a special way of making big deal things... even BIGGER and more IMPORTANT. You have a way of taking a Big Deal and making it even Bigger and more special and important! It really meant the world to me that you were there, cheering me on with ALL THE KIDS!
Jen, thanks for the phone calls... and for all the gentle pushes since JANUARY to get me there!!
It wouldn't have been the same without both of you involved!!

Carrie mentioned already too, about the one she found out about. DISNEYLAND has a half! It goes through the park. Wouldn't that be so fun!? I looked into it a little bit yesterday. It can be a bit pricey with travel & lodging & food & just the registration fee for the race was $100.00, but if we can work it out somehow... it would be so FUN!

I seriously couldn't be happier about how i did! I wish that i could hold on to this feeling FOREVER! I am proud of myself! It was a great accomplishment for me and i DID IT!

You guys are awesome!! -- Jen

Uh helloooo Jodi - you lost 2 1/2 lbs. last week.  Thats huge!!  On the phone you acted like you didn't really loose much - I guess I should have asked!  Anything over 2 is an enormous accomplishment at this point because you don't have much else to loose.  Great job!  And Carrie - 6lbs.!!!!  I guess it is ON - you guys aren't messing around!  I love you both!  Good luck this weekend Jodi.  Wish I was there to help cheer you onSad

I'm Here! I'm Here! Ü -- Jodi

Ok, so i have been a little bit MIA... but that doesn't mean that i am not still working hard! Open-mouthed I have my marathon race THIS WEEKEND!!! I am SO kinda freaking out! especially since Carrie won't be RIGHT THERE WITH ME to encourage me along!! I am really nervous about that! I am on my own this time! Julie will be there running the race too... but i think that she is running it with friends of hers. I guess i could tag along if i wanted too. I dunno. Might be good for me to try and run it on my own. (yikes!!)

OK! So our NEW challenge includes our third sister Carrie! HI CARE! WTG Care on the 6 LBS!!! Awesome!!! Our new goal date is June 7th! So, here are some of my new goals:

  1. Exercise 6 days a week.
  2. Continue to eat healthy & count those calories!
  3. No Soda! (eeks!)(i had a BIG ol soda yesterday... but it was the first one in a long time. I have done SO good with the not having soda. It really hasn't been too hard to not have them, but every now and again - like yesterday i Really 'needed' one... when i want one i haven't felt guilty to have one... BUT if i commit to not having them for the entire time... then NONE it is!) (Carrie--WTG by the way on ONLY WATER! that is HUGE!)
  4. Finish a half marathon & not feel like i am going to DIE! Wink
  5. Loose 10 more pounds!! at least 5 by May 17th and 5 more by June 7th.
